Anerexia: Society In Turmoil
"Face It" is a painting stating the way Anerexics see themselves. The room in which the female is standing is empty, dull, and *dark*, emphasing the negitive emotion within her. Her bones and exagerated features are emphased through the sickly colours. The viewer looks through the painting with the woman's eyes, seeing what she sees in the mirror. She is connected to her reflection through the use of facial expression and her hand, gently contacting the mirror Given, it is not the prettiest painting to look at, and many have told me that they hate and yet like it at the same time.....including dad...... ahhh....the power of images |
